Cambridge Satchel launches Harvard and Columbia Universities collab

Cambridge Satchel is known for its collaborations with designer and premium labels but perhaps its latest collab is most fitting given its star product’s origins as a school bag.

The company is linking up with Harvard and Columbia Universities in the US, two of the world’s most prestigious Ivy League academic institutions.

The collab “celebrates heritage, craftsmanship and the enduring spirit of academic excellence”. It’s a limited-edition collection that understandably features Cambridge Satchel’s signature satchel styles, but “reimagined with design elements inspired by each university’s rich history, distinct colours and insignia”.

The pieces are made in the brand’s workshop in England, and we’re told that “each bag combines timeless British craftsmanship with the spirit of these world-leading universities”. 

The Harvard edition features the deep crimson hue synonymous with the institution, complemented by an embossed Harvard crest. The Columbia edition draws from the university’s Columbia Blue, paired with “refined detailing” and a subtle crest emblem.

The pieces are available both online at the brand’s webstore and in its UK stores in London, Cambridge, Leeds, Windsor, Edinburgh and Bath, which are popular destinations for US and other international tourists.
